Natural Farming can be defined as a chemical- free and livestock based farming. Soundly grounded in agro-ecology, it is a diversified farming system that integrates crops, trees and livestock, allowing the optimum use of functional biodiversity. It holds the promise of enhancing farmers. income while delivering many other benefits, such as restoration of soil fertility and environmental health, and mitigating and/or reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This farming approach was introduced by Masanobu Fukuoka, a Japanese farmer and philosopher, in his 1975 book The One-Straw Revolution.

Dr Naleeni Ramawat is working as Associate Professor (Agronomy) at College of Agriculture, Agriculture University, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) She has served as Director at Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India for more than a decade. She has to her credit meritorious service of over 18 years in Teaching, Research and Administration in the discipline of Agricultural Crop Production and Management. She is a Doctorate in Agronomy with specialization in Crop Production and Crop Modeling. Her primary area of research is crop modeling, plant nutrition, organic agriculture and abiotic stress management. She has been extensively involved in academic, research and extension & Institutional Building activities as a Director of Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture for past one decade and guided several doctoral and post graduate students. She has been recipient of BIRAC- Grand Challenges India Award as Co-PI for Agri-Nutrition and also young Scientist Award in 2016. She has more than 90 peer reviewed national/international publications and has delivered numerous oral and posters talks. She has also experience in handling Research projects sponsored by MoA, GOI, DST, BIRAC and Nanomission on Zinc bio fortification, Agri-voltaics and Organic Agriculture.
